Green construction. It is an efficient, productive solution used to reduce the environmental pollution by constructions. Solution for pollution! Green construction link the construction field and environment together. Sound good? This is called as eco-friendly construction. Actually, this maintains the balance between construction and environment. Nowadays environmental pollution is a very popular topic among people, media and, politicians as well. Everybody tries to protect the environment but it should not only by words, but also by works. Eco friendly construction is a big step of “Live green save more green”. Do you ever heard about a building that illuminated by natural sunlight, or a building that planted plants on roof, or a building with zero carbon emission. Wow! Aren’t those exciting? Energy star labeled are becoming a well-known equipments under this topic. Today many consumers choose Energy Star appliances for their buildings because they offer significant cost and they save energy without any compromising performance.
Proper insulation
This is one of most important thing in green building construction. 50% of energy consumption of a building is used for heating and cooling in the building. The heat loss of the building happen mostly by doors, ductworks, windows as well. Heating and cooling are wasted by improper insulation. Proper insulations reduce your energy consumption and electricity bills. A proper insulation is made from non-renewable materials. It has high-end finishes. In addition, green insulation can use old used materials even newspapers. This method protects the environment directly as well as indirectly.
Reuse and recycle
This is the most interesting and most sustainable method ever according to my thinking. We can reuse old, used materials. This option very well helps to protect the environment and for sustainable construction. Examples for recycled materials you can use are
Roof made from recycled rubber
Composite decking made from recycled papers and woods (this uses waste papers and woods)
Countertops made from tree pulp (tree pulps are provided by only managed forests)
Carpets made from recycled plastics
Recycled tiles
Recycled glass, aluminum
I think this is the most significant option or solution we can follow in building constructions as well as other fields badly contributed to environmental pollution.
Using sustainable materials
In eco-friendly construction, environmentally friendly products must in your list to reduce impact on the environment from the construction. Every part of the building; roof, building materials, insulation should be eco-friendly. Recycled, reusing or natural products; bamboo, cork should be used. Especially organic paints can reduce bad impact on the environment because they easily breakdown but do not release any toxins.
Using solar panels
Solar panels provide energy by natural power; the sun. According to location of building and way constructed the solar panel amount of power collected by solar panel is determined. The energy consumption can be brought down by solar panels.
Adding rainwater harvesting systems and tankless water heaters
Rainwater harvesting systems are used to collect rainwater from roofs. This collected water is stored in a large tank. Then this water can be used for various purposes; toilets, sprinkler systems. Today very common method in rainwater harvesting is rain barrels. The advantage of tankless water heater is you do not need wait for water to get heated and they heat only amount of water you needed by passing through an electric coil.
Eco-friendly lighting
LED and CFL bulbs are ideal for a green building because they use less energy and last longer than common incandescent bulbs.

The building is viewed as a rock in the crowded, artificial city and happiness is to see such a nature related huge construction in a complex, technological, modern world.
