Today we are living in an updating world where every day is a beginning of fresh technologies and new ideas. In this technology kingdom working without technology has became an impossible task in our day-to-day life, as a result most of the industries and fields are getting influenced by technology. At the same time science and engineering are also playing a major role in our daily routines. While talking about these topics undoubtedly most of the industries and solutions of global challenges have the direct or indirect influence of nano technology in it. Nano technology is a combination of technology, engineering and science.

What is nanotechnology? Nano technology is the study and application of extremely small things. This was the answer I found from Nano.gov with simple words. Even though nanotechnology plays a major role in current and emerging technologies, medical field stands first in the list of getting the highest benefits and outputs from nanotechnology. Specially nanotechnology is an incredible gift for bioengineering sector.

The influence of nanotechnology in bioengineering has encouraged the researchers to focus on wide and extensive areas for their researches with confident. Most of the non-focused areas of life science and their problems are slowly stepping into the spot light and the respective new, improved and modified solutions are being provided in an increasing pattern.

As we all know the viruses and many other bio threats are mostly structured in nano meters. So, obviously the same size of fighters may work more effectively on treating them. For an example, Photocatalysts, the titanium oxide nano particles are used to clean bacteria on surfaces. Molecular switches, bio sensors, micro sized chips and many other nano structured devices are helping a lot in treating these kinds of threats.

Recently the National Breast Cancer Foundation Diagnostics Centre started working on creating the predictors which predicts the early and advance stages of breast cancer and also, a diagnostic technology which detects and diagnosis the advance breast cancer using nanotechnology and molecular genetics. Like this many researches are being conducted on identifying diseases using nanotechnology.

After identifying the diseases, drug providence plays a main role in curing them. Normal drug consuming maybe less effective for some severe diseases. In this type of situations using targeted drug delivery will be helping a lot in getting effective results. There are many efficient drug delivery methods related with nanotechnology are in ideology stage and many others are being used and some are in testing stage. Cancer radiation therapy, Chemotherapy and Cancer Heat therapy are some effective methods used to cure cancer as the same nano tubes for dental problems, nano diamonds for eye diseases, insulated nano capsules for diabetics, protein derived stem cells for fighting aging and many other diseases are being treated using targeted drug delivery with the help of nanotechnology. Targeted drug delivery will reduce the side effects of drugs and prevents the tissues from damages.

Tissue damages can be caused due to many reasons. Curing the damages of tissues is called as tissue engineering. Nanotechnology has helped a lot to create an effective tissue engineering system. Nano structured cell-ECM plays a vital role in the function of tissues. It simulates the regeneration of tissues. As it is a nano structured feature nanotechnology has helped a lot to deal with it while treating the damaged tissues. In the early tissue engineering they were only able to reach a middle level of success but after the arrival of nanotechnology the field have achieved an increased and visible level of success.

Nano biosensors for disease diagnosis, nanoprobes for photothermal therapy, nanoparticles for bio imaging, implant engineering and emerging therapeutics delivery are also some of the achievements achieved using nanotechnology in bioengineering. Nanotechnology also helps in monitoring, delivering, sensing and analyzing things during many treatments. Nano devices used in bioengineering field are the unsung heroes who make the works easy and effective. Undoubtedly the approval of nanotechnology into the field of bioengineering has created a revolution in this field.

As bioengineering is a minuet practice many people didn’t approach it with confident in early days but after the arrival of nanotechnology, it created a zooming lens in front of bioengineering and made it even more minuet with easy approaches. Nanotechnology has been always there behind the novel ideas and inventions of bioengineering. Nanotechnology played, plays and will play a vital role in the field of bioengineering. I strongly believe that this never fading technology will create miracles in the bioengineering field and help the people with global and individual levels in future to deserve proper medical solutions.
