Eco- Friendly Construction Methods.
A sustainable approach to develop with greenery
Is there a way to achieve higher development while maintaining a healthy relationship with nature? This must be a mutual thought among almost all the inhabitants of the world who suffers from deleterious climatic conditions. Most of these conditions occur due to the unsustainable use of biodiversity. Eco-friendly construction methods provide an effective solution regarding this matter.
A famous quote by Professor Guy McPherson sites the importance of the environment in a very practical way. “If you really think the economy is more important than the environment, try holding your breath while you count your money”. Thus, it is vital to make life better with nature not against it. Eco-friendly constructions link ecological principles with the new technological advancements in a productive manner by conserving and respecting the environment. Architects, designers and construction companies pay more attention to these sustainable creations lately due to the arising risks with conventional buildings and customer demand.
Types of nature-friendly sustainable structures include green roofs, grid hybrid systems, greywater plumbing systems, solar thermal cladding, synthetic rood underlayment, etc. These constructions utilize water, solar power, wind power, energy and materials efficiently. In the long run, it increases the economic viability of the community. Bank of America, Antilia Building, Crystal Island, Transbay Tower, Tower of Glass and PricewaterhouseCoopers Building are some of the eco-friendly buildings on earth which are well known among thousands of people.
The aforesaid constructions are made using environmentally safe materials such as straw bales, preset concrete, plant-based polyurethane rigid foam, bamboo and recycled steel. Precedent insulation materials make the buildings self-sufficient up to a certain degree. All of these materials are recyclable and have non-toxic characteristics, therefore provide health benefits to the public. Especially bamboo assimilate more than twice the percentage of carbon dioxide than the common greenery. Hence it is one of the best eco-materials.
Besides minimizing the impact on the environment, there are many advantages associated with these creations. Eco-friendly constructions alter the quality of the life for the sociality as a whole. Exclusively enhance the indoor environment conditions for its users. Green technologies promote the better use of eco-friendly materials hence improve productivity and reduce the costs related to the developments. Through these methods, constructors are benefitted from various kinds of opportunities because they open up new areas in the local and international markets. This technology provides room for experiments; helping the local industry to grow.
Because these creations are relatively new to the world underprivileged and developing countries may find some complications adopting them. And funding for such projects may be difficult to get. Initial building costs for the eco-friendly constructions can be above the price range compared to the traditional developing methods. Accessibility and the availability of the related materials are also quite low. But despite these limitations, the overall process is economically, socially and environmentally advantages.
In the developing world, industrialization should take place while the environment plays its essential role. But at the end of the day, it’s not about establishing an endless number of eco-friendly constructions. It’s about linking humanity with nature in the most effective way to maintain the balance between them for a better tomorrow.
