நவீன உலகில் ஒவ்வொரு பணிக்கும் Cloud Computing எனும் பதம் முக்கியமாகிவிட்டது. Cloud Computing ல் பல நன்மைகள் மற்றும் தீமைகள் உள்ளது. ஆவற்றில் தங்கள் பணிகளை எளிதாகவும் சிறப்பாகவும் செய்யக்கூடிய , திறன் பராமரிப்பின் தேவையின்மை மற்றும் குறைந்த பட்ச மென்பொருள் செலவு ஆகியவை இதன் நன்மைகள். ஆனால் இணைய அணுகல் இல்லாத இடங்களில் இதைப்பயன்படுத்த முடியாது. இதுவே இதன் முக்கிய தீமை. இருப்பினும் Cloud Computing இன் பல வடிவங்கள் உலகில் புரட்சியை ஏற்படுத்தியுள்ளது.நம் அன்றாட வாழ்கையில் அடிக்கடி பயன்படுத்தும் Facebook ,Gmail போன்றவை Cloud Computing என்ற கருத்தின் முடிவுகளாகும். தொழிநுட்ப உலகின் முன்னேற்றத்துடன் Cloud Computing எனும் பதம் மேலும் அபிவிருத்தி செய்யப்பட்டு எதிர்காலத்தில் சமூகத்தில் வேரூன்றும்.

ලෝකයේ ඇති සෑම පරිගණක යෙදුමක්ම වාගේ රදවා ඇති පද්ධතියකට පිවිස අපට අවශ්ය පරිගණක යෙදුම තෝරාගෙන , අවශ්ය කාර්ය කරගැනීමට cloud computing යන සංකල්පය භාවිතා කරයි .මෙහිදී අපට අවශ්ය වන්නේ web browser එකක් සහිත පරිගණකයක් සහ අන්තර්ජාල සම්බන්ධතාවයක් පමනි .මෙම පහසුකම නිසා අපට අවශ්ය වන පරිගණක යෙදුම අපගේ පරිගණකයට බාගත කිරීමට අවශ්යතාවයක් නොමැත .ලෝකයේ ඕනෑම තැනක සිට අන්තර්ජාල සම්බන්ධතාවයක් සහිත පරිගණකයක් ඔස්සේ සම්බන්ධ වී අවශ්ය කාර්ය කර දත්ත පරිගණකයේ ගබඩාකර ගැනීමට මෙමගින් හැකියාව පවතී.
